Black Hole 5 cabinet walls damping system consist of 5 separate layers. Sold in 10 sheet pads od 18"x12" dimensions
- 1-High loss vibration damping material (same as PAD), deadens resonance from the cabinet. It is strongly bonded to the wall with the PSA film for optimum performance.
- 2-Polyester urethane flexible open cell foam 1/4 in. thick. Thanks to its special vibration-isolation characteristics, it decouples the vibrating structure (the wall) from the rest of the damping system, thus optimizing performance.
- 3-Barrier septum 1/8in. thick. Made of limp flexible vinyl copolymer loaded with non-lead inorganic fillers, it acts literally as a dead wall, thus isolating the vibrations in walls of your cabinet and the vibrations created inside the enclosure from each other.
- 4-Polyester urethane foam 1in. thick, structurally optimized for acoustical damping. (specific permeability, density, stiffness, pore size, and shape) It is highly effective at "soaking" maximum sound energy with minimum thickness.
- 5-Thin diamond pattern embossing. This unique surface layer improves dramatically the performance of the whole acoustical system, specially into the lower mid-range and mid-bass frequencies.
- BH5 should be used on all internal walls for best results and you don't need to change the internal volume of your cabinet to compensate for BH5 displacement.
